What are seamless gutters and why are they better?
As a homeowner, one of the best things you can do to preserve the overall structure of your house is to maintain and upkeep your gutters.

Your gutter system protects your house from the elements such as rain and snow.  If you have considered seamless gutters, the time to get them might be now, while we are still in fall and before the winter cold strikes.

Perhaps you are unsure about seamless gutters because you are uncertain about what they are and the benefits they can bring.  Below is a detailed description of seamless gutters, and a list of their many benefits.

What are Seamless Gutters?

As mentioned above, your gutter system needs to function properly in order to protect your house from inclement weather.

For your gutter system to work right, it needs to redirect the flow of stormwater away from your home.

What might cause your gutter system to malfunction?   If they get clogged.

Seamless gutters are just that, seamless, and they do not ever get clogged.

In fact, they help manage the flow of stormwater successfully. No matter what the weather conditions.

Seamless gutters are often made of aluminum or copper.  You can get them custom made by a gutter contractor to fit your home beautifully.

Seamless Gutters Are an Investment

It is true that you should not attempt to install seamless gutters by yourself.

To acquire seamless gutters, you will need to hire a gutter contractor with extensive experience.  And, that sounds expensive, right?

Not only will you have to pay for the materials, but also the labor involved in installing them.

As a homeowner, the cost of a home renovation may be enough to convince you it is not worth it to install seamless gutters.

But did you know that seamless gutters can save you money in the long run?

Perhaps you decide to install a sectional gutter system instead.  Sectional gutter systems can be installed by a homeowner, and definitely costs less.

But, if you install the gutter system incorrectly you can be putting your house at considerable risk.  A sectional gutter system that has been installed wrong can get clogged.

A clogged system stops working efficiently, and this can lead to sagging gutters.  It can lead debris to build up and stormwater to back up.  If your improperly installed gutters can accumulate stormwater, it can flood your lawn.  It can flood your basement.

Flooding can lead to cracks or shifts in the foundation in your house.  So, without a properly functioning gutter system, you could end up having to make extensive repairs to your home far more expensive than a seamless gutter system.

A List of Repairs That Could Develop Without Seamless Gutters

  1. New gutters and downspouts to replace the old, clogged ones.
  2. New siding that got damaged due to leaks
  3. New landscaping for your lawn due to flood damage
  4. Repairing a flooded basement
  5. Repairing a cracked or shifting foundation.
So, as you can see, a seamless gutter system is a worthwhile investment for your house, because, without it, you could end up spending a lot more money.
