Steel vs Aluminum Gutters in Denver

The gutter market is huge. However, the materials gutters are made of are actually quite slim. Metal gutters make up a third of the gutter world, as there are only three options: wood, metal, and vinyl.

They are one of the most popular because they can be easily cut, handled, and hung for a great price.

You know metal gutters are in your future, but which one is right for you? The two main gutters we will compare today are steel vs. aluminum gutters and the pros and cons of each.

Stay tuned to help make your decision a breeze!

Steel vs. Aluminum Gutters: What's the Difference?
There's a significant difference in these two types of metal gutters. They both carry water off your roof to your downspout, but that is about all they have in common.

Next to vinyl, aluminum gutters are one of the most common gutters to ever be mounted on a house. They are easy to make and work with, with many companies cutting and making the gutters on site with a bender.

They are available in a wide range of colors. Also, parts to fix, maintain, and replace them are common.

Steel gutters are quite different. They are made of heavier steel, which weighs more and is not as malleable as aluminum. This can be both good and bad, as these gutters are much more robust than aluminum gutters.

The Common Aluminum Gutter
The aluminum gutter is one that has been the go-to for many homeowners for years. These gutters are very lightweight and won't put a strain on your roof, or your wallet.

Aluminum gutters are one of the most cost effective gutter systems you can find. When bent properly, the metal will not sag and can keep its integrity and rigidity for time to come. However, aluminum gutters are not impervious.

Climates that receive heavy snowfall, hail damage, and high winds may want to rethink aluminum gutters.

While they are great in moderate climates, aluminum gutters don't stand up like the opponent does.

Steel Gutters
Be aware that not all steel gutters are alike. Stainless steel is a step above galvanized steel in the world of gutters, as stainless is revered for its pretty finish and ability to stay rust and corrosion resistant for a long time.

While all the gutters you find at Colorado Seamless Gutters are some of the best on the market, these are some of the toughest in town. Steel gutters will not bend or twist as others may. Their look is quality, and problems are few and far between.

However, steel gutters will cost you a little more. These sections must be just the right length and require heavier fittings and joints that may push the limits of your budget.

However, the term "buy once, cry once" applies.
These gutters will outlast nearly all other options.

Nature Stops for No Man
If it is time to replace your gutter system, think carefully! There may be natural threats in your area that call for higher structural integrity. Deciding between steel vs. aluminum gutters requires an understanding of the elements they will face.

Whatever option calls your name, you can trust Colorado Seamless Gutters to get you the best products and service to fit your home's needs!
