Tips For Cleaning Denver Gutters
The average yearly precipitation in the state of Colorado is 14.5 inches. Although compared to Hawaii's 63 inches, it might not seem like a lot, it's still a decent amount of rain.

If you're a homeowner, then you know the gutters should always be ready to take on the rainy season. For those who have neglected their gutters, there are some clear signs it's time to tend to them.

Here are some signs is time to get your gutters cleaned.

Cleaning Gutters In Denver Colorado

1. Water Spilling Over the Sides
Water is not supposed to spill from the sides of the gutters. If you observe your gutters look more like a waterfall than a river, then it's a clear sign your gutters need changing.

When your gutters get clogged, the water doesn't flow like it's supposed to, and the water has nowhere to go. The water spilling from the sides can lead to flooding in your basement and other damages.

2. The Gutters Start to Sag
When you don't clean the debris from your gutters, the weight of the gutters won't be able to flow like it's supposed to.

A clear sign you need to clean your gutters is if they're sagging in the middle. If your gutters sag, they cannot effectively carry water away like they're supposed to.

Unless you tend to the gutters, the weight of the water can pull the gutters away from your home and cause permanent damage.   If they are near a window, the water can actually leak through the top of the windows into your house.

3. Birds and Other Pests Nesting
Birds, squirrels, and pests don't belong in your gutters. When you don't clean your gutters from debris, pest might see an opportunity to nest.

If you've noticed critters and birds are hanging around your gutters, you have a big problem in your hands. Once you spot them hanging around, it's time you get to work on clearing the gutters.

4. Plants are Growing
Your gutters are not the right place to plant a garden. If you notice plants growing in your gutters, then cleaning is overdue.

Leaves and debris that get stuck in your gutters will have seeds, and the humidity of the left by the water will stimulate growth.

Some people might also resort to foam gutter guards to discourage plants from growing.

5. Stained Siding
If you notice water stains going down the siding of your house, it means your gutters need cleaning.

Standing rain water will damage the fascia boards, shingles, and more. Not only is it unsightly, but it can also be expensive to repair.

6. Don't Remember When Last Cleaned the Gutters
You might not remember when was the last time you cleaned your gutters. If you don't recall the last time you performed this dreaded task, then it's time to clean your gutters.

A good rule of thumb is to clean your gutters at least once every season. You can also adjust how often you clean them depending on the area where you live.

When to Get Your Gutters Cleaned
Now that you know when to get your gutters cleaned, you will never have issues with your gutters again. Remember to look out for nests, stained siding, water spilling, and plants growing in your gutters.

If cleaning your gutters is one of those dreaded tasks, no need to worry. Let the professionals at Colorado Seamless Gutters, Inc. help. Contact us today for a quote.
