The following pictures are good examples of a rain chain in the winter. Although they are beautiful “Ice Sculptures”, they also must support a lot of weight. Making sure the chain is attached securely at the top is essential. We recommend using a heavy duty hanger bracket and “U” bolt for securing the chain to the gutter and fascia. Make sure you use a sturdy screw, directly into the rafter tail. The bottom line is that rainchains can be both functional and aesthetic, even in the winter, if they’re installed and anchored correctly.
